Third-party Hearthstone tools which are not strictly built for the purposes of cheating were also named as susceptible to malware. However, Symantec warned that the program carried malware which steals users' Bitcoin. In particular, Hearthstone Hack Tool v2.1 was named as a "total scam" in its promises to give players more gold and dust. These tools range from outright cheating applications to bots and deck-trackers. Technology company Symantec has released new research overnight to warn Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft players against using third-party tools with the game. Symantec did not suggest (nor intend to suggest) that Hearthbuddy itself contains malware. "This was just shown to provide a general example of an available bot. "A previous edition of this blog featured an image of the Hearthbuddy bot software purchase and download page," a representative said. [UPDATE Symantec has issued a new statement on the report, saying it did not intend to suggest that Hearthbuddy specifically contains malware.
